Purpose
The simplest definition of web publishing creates a website. Therefore, one purpose of web publishing is to create code, develop and maintain online websites and web pages. This process usually involves arranging web pages into separate directories for a web server / host as well. Modern web publishing is more than just HTML coding. Web publishing, web development, and website design often involve other programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript, and CSS. To manage web pages on the server side, the web publisher must also have knowledge of PHP MyAdmin, host directory structures and MySQL.
Desktop publishing is different from web publishing because it does not include much of handwriting, programming languages, and website information. Instead, desktop publishing focuses on art and graphic design projects, which may be used for printing, publishing, or other marketing purposes. Desktop publishers do not usually create website codes, or they can create a specific web design. For example, a desktop publisher might approve a project in which they are assigned to create website images. From there, they will use desktop publishing tools like Photoshop to design graphics. The desktop publisher will not be responsible for uploading these images and linking them to the website. They are primarily responsible for the end of the design process.

Desktop Publishing + Web Publishing = Graphic Design?
The skills required for desktop publishing and the skills required for web publishing are closely related. Somehow, they are connected. Many modern graphic designer agencies may be trained to publish web after college. Most college graphic design courses will teach students how to design, edit, and enhance images in programs such as Photoshop. However, many jobs that employ these designers may also request specific web development information. This is not always the case, but it is common in some fields.
